Happy Thanksgiving!

Listen to your life.
See it for the fathomless mystery that it is.
Touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it
because in the last analysis all moments are sacred moments
and life itself is grace.
(Frederick Buechner)

Friends,
This Thanksgiving, remember to listen to your life
— even its small parts
so you may notice its beauty, soak up its goodness,
become familiar with its shapes and colors.

Don’t be afraid to pay attention, to awaken to the spirit language
that only your heart knows,
and to lift holy hands to God in prayerful gratitude.

May we celebrate together our thankfulness!
And may we turn over and multiply the blessings of our lives
into the lives of others.

  1. Thank you. Many years ago, when I was recovering from major surgery, I wrote to Frederick Buechner. He kindly wrote back. Blessings, Ellen
